Working as the only photo editor at a publication means I get to wear multiple hats...all at once.

My favorite thing about working as a photo editor at Leafly is that I get to have free rein over our publication's visual communication strategy, and I am allowed the agency to try crazy ideas, track their success, and implement those successes into our workflow to better inform our understanding on what our audience responds to.

This has meant that I have had the privilege to provide creative direction on shoots for our articles, try my hand at designing news graphics and illustrations, as well as provide art direction to our designers to produce some pretty cute and anatomically correct bugs, amongst other things. Being in a position where I have the opportunity to create as well as manage and facilitate creation has been incredibly fulfilling.

It's cliché to say that I enjoy my work, and therefore have felt like I haven't worked a day in my life, but I'm lucky enough that it's the truth. Working alone or with a team to come up with varied visual solutions to elevate a message has been the thing that has lit my fire since I was a 16-year-old art director on my high school newspaper.
